در شعر انگلیسی ، پاره شعری (نک.پاره شعری) است که از هشت سطر با وزن (نک.وزن) آیمبیک پنج پایه (نک.پایه) تشکیل شده باشد و طرح های قافیه (نک.طرح قافیه) آن به صورت ab ab ab cc   است برای نمونه :
